To hide files/folders - Using CommandPrompt

Procedure to hide the files/folders without using any software

I provided screenshots also, for beginners.

Suppose you want to hide the folder “Sample” which is in your E: drive.
So, open command prompt typing “cmd” in the “run” from Windows start menu.
Now change the drive typing “ E: ” and then press enter.

Type the command replacing the ‘filename/folder name’ with the name of the file or folder which you want to hide.

attrib filename/folder name +s +h

Now it will not be shown.
Windows explorer even if you have changed the setting.
Now to unhide the file you have to type the command.

attrib filename/folder name –s –h

Note: 

• You should remember which file or folder you have hidden. 
• After hiding the file or folder with the above process there is no way to browse it without knowing the name

Steps To Make IDM Full Version

Step 1 ) Download and install the latest version of IDM from their Official Website or download one from our Downloads Section.

Step 2 ) Now open My Computer and navigate to “C: > Windows > System32 > Drivers > etc”.

Step 3 ) You will see a file named “hosts”. Open that file using Notepad.

Step 4 ) Now copy all the given lines of code from this file to the bottom of the hosts file as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 5 ) Now save the hosts file and run IDM. Go to the registration tab, click on registration and paste any serial from this file.

Here is the post which will describe easy steps to hide your files.

You can hide files in your Nokia S40 mobile phone without any external software's.

Here is the steps you have to follow:

1. Create a folder named test.jad (you can give any name only the thing is the extension should be .jad)
2. Now move all the files which you want to hide, to this folder.
3. Then create a new folder named test.jar (use the same name used in the first step,but the extension should be .jar, make sure previous one is .jad extension and now this one is .jar extension)
4. Now the folder test.jad will be hidden with all its contents!

Now here is the steps to recover your hidden files:

1. Either rename or delete the folder test.jar
2. Then the folder test.jad will be visible again with all the contents in it.
